Under the guidance of Kerry Zorzi ADAMS GRANITE COMPANY has carried on the family tradition of supplying "Fine Art Memorials" started in 1934 by Irene and Adam Podskalny and maintained by their nephew Elgio Zorzi, Kerry's father.
In 1992, a 14,000 square foot plant was built to serve an expanding customer base; by 2001 it was apparent that additional space would soon be needed. Buoyed by the growing demand, management began to study means for further expanding the company's production capabilities.
On January 11, 2002 ADAMS GRANITE COMPANY completed the purchase of a modern facility in the Wilson Industrial Park. The acquisition of this state-of-the-art 70,000 square foot manufacturing plant assures customers their need for timely deliveries and competitive prices will be met well into the future while direct control over every aspect of the production process guarantees unmatched quality.

Maurice "Moe", a well-known finisher, cutter and machinist founded B&B Monumental Engravers in 1968. Moe's father was also a stonecutter, which makes Steve the third generation of Bigras's to work in the Barre granite industry. Steve purchased the company from his father in 1994, the year the firm moved into its new renovated 86,000-square foot facility.
Their sandblast shop can handle pieces of granite up to 15 feet wide and 10 feet tall. This allows them to accommodate for the larger monuments that need to be engraved as well as the smaller monuments.
They use a computer to handle the majority of their drafting and stencil cutting, although some of the stencils are still done by hand or acquired from their dealers. As an added service, Steve provides his customers with his own design books. Steve estimates that the company engraves some 5,000-6,000 pieces per year for their retail customers and local manufacturers.
The success of the company, Steve says, is simple: "We offer good service, good quality, and of course, good prices."

Sherman and Diane Cochran are the owners of Cochran's, Inc., a multi-faceted company specializing in Barre craftsmanship and computer technology for 30 years. Customers can purchase a complete monument, any lettering and a shape-carving or laser-etching created with computer technology. COCHRAN'S MONUMENTAL DESIGNER CAD SYSTEM, a computerized stencil-cutting system, offered solely to the monument industry is used daily in their production facility. Now, we're offering 3-D Color Studio software. This software enables you to render drawings in all common granite colors. A new PSR Sandblast System, which recycles abrasive, is now available!! This BGA member has been in business since 1968, when Adelard Benoit Jr. and a former partner opened their shop in the former Modern Granite plant on Lewis Street. Granite has always been a part of Sluggo's life. He learned about the industry in high school and from his father Adelard Sr. who started in the trade in the 1930's.
Culture Craft is a true family run business. Judy Benoit the wife of Sluggo runs the company office. Son Brian, who joined the company in 1993, is the computer expert in the family and set up their computer system.
Culture Craft does designing, drafting and sandblasting. The company uses a CAD computer design drafting system with three employees working in that department. They have between 1000 and 1500 designs available to customers and add to that list when new designs are needed. Their drafting facility allows them to provide full-size drawings of any design and fax size drawings in 8x10 size for most designs. Their turn around time normally is two to three weeks.
Currently, they complete approximately 4000 units each year. "We are able to put more time and effort, and concentrate on our specialty," says Judy, "because we don't manufacture monuments. We only design and sandblast." We take great pride in our work.
